The Uncommon Guides
Laurana Rayne has a long-standing interest in conscious consumption, going back to her days teaching a college course about consumer issues. Money issues. Health issues. They challenge us to navigate the consumer culture without being broken by it. Her first book is Conscious Spending, Conscious Life, and the next will be about the health and wellness aspect of consumerism. Laurana writes and teaches about navigating the consumer culture in thoughtful ways that allow us to make the lives we really want for ourselves and those who will follow. Her threefold approach includes being aware of the culture we’re immersed in, learning to access resource information, and befriending ourselves so we can make meaningful choices.

Gentle Mentals
Gentle Mentals is a grassroots initiative on a mission to redefine the way people approach the topic of mental health issues. One in five Americans are affected by some form of mental illness, but many people don’t talk about it openly. We use humor, art, and lightheartedness in order to inspire openness and get the conversation started. Because conversation is often the first step to getting the proper help needed. W

Polymoney
Polymoney is a swiss ngo. We develop serious fun learning games to learn about money as a tool for social change. In 2018 we will release Polymoney as a digital hybrid game with a huge online resource base and learning platform for everyone who is interested in teaching and learning about different forms of money.
Purpose: to enhance consciousness about money, not only how it works but also what is does with us as individuals and as a collective on our emotional as well as rational side. The next step is to bring this knowledge into action. In other words anyone, anywhere in the world should have access to that knowledge and then be enabled to participate or join an existing local economy or even create and initiate their own one.
Hailey Stilwell
: We all know breastfeeding gives babies a leg up on the rest of their lives nutritionally and immune system-wise – but the emotional wellbeing that comes from skin-to-skin contact and looking into each other’s eyes is just as crucial. Holistically, I feel breastfeeding is about connection – connecting with your baby, connecting with yourself as a mother, connecting to others around you over breastfeeding, and frankly, connecting to what’s best for the planet. Yet after my own experience of pumping and nursing in numerous situations for over a year, it’s easy to see why many mothers stop sooner rather than later. If I can minimize one of the challenges – lack of nursing/pumping-friendly clothes that fit in the workplace – and it helps mothers breastfeed that much longer, then I’ve accomplished my goal. HadleyStilwell designs are meant to be clothes you want to wear – that just happen to accommodate nursing and pumping. I hope these pieces become long-term staples of your wardrobe, and play a supporting role to growing your own lifelong bonds.
