Building Green

What would it be worth to get advice on how to make smart purchases for your home; purchases that are not only good for your health, but good for the planet? What if that advice came from the ‘Father of the Green Building Movement”?

You have the opportunity to get that with David Gottfried, Stanford-Educated Founder of the U.S. Green Building Council. David has arguably done more for the environment than anyone else in the United States. He is the man behind the LEED certification which is essentially the standard for green building.

David was one of the commercial developers that got caught in the real estate bubble burst of the 1980’s. This bubble burst crushed his hopes, dreams, and nearly crushed his soul. But, out of the personal tragedy, he decided to draw on his solar engineering design class experience. In short, he took the lemon he was served and created lemonade for the world.

David worked green building and solar and health together to create buildings that are good for people and the planet. Fast forward 20 years, the building model his group invented has become a Harvard Business School case study with the ultimate goal of greening the entire country’s building industry.

Taking It Global

LEED, which is his green building rating system, stands for Leadership, Energy, and Environmental Design. The LEED system is now being used in 150 countries around the globe.

So, the question becomes how do you take the LEED principles and apply them to your home environment? How do you help your family live in an environment that minimizes their exposure to the billions of toxic chemicals they are bombarded with every day, conserves energy and saves the planet all at the same time?

The good news is it is not as difficult as one would think. Green is so big. It’s about the future of the earth and the future of the living species on earth. If you don’t have fresh air or water, you die. If you don’t have soil to grow food, you die. You can take concrete steps toward protecting your family while protecting the planet’s resources at the same time.

Learn how you can be a part of the green explosion! You, your family and the planet will all benefit!
