Making BIG Change

Ten years ago two people’s individual passions collided to create a move that changed the world. Alex Jamieson had a passion for cooking and health food; Morgan Spurlock had a passion for film making. Together they decided to create a film showing what would happen if someone ate nothing but McDonald’s food for an entire month. “Super Size Me” was the result. The world had its first graphic illustration of the old saying, “You are what you eat.”

The movie gave people visual confirmation of what the standard American diet does to them. We have been given visual proof that we are eating ourselves into chronic illness and early death. The problem is, now that we know what the problem is, how do we fix it?

There are literally thousands of ‘diets’ out there; hundreds of thousands of weight loss aids, and hundreds of self-appointed experts who are more than willing to give you advice. Apparently none of them are effective, because nearly 40% of Americans are obese despite the millions of dollars we spend each year on weight-loss programs. How do we break the downward spiral?

What do we do now that we know

How do we ignore the constant bombardment by giant junk food corporations trying to sell us their wares; much less navigate successfully through the weight loss industry’s advice? How do we determine what will work for us?

Alex explains that the most productive first step could be as simple as giving yourself permission to play. You can’t pummel yourself into a loving relationship with your body. Rediscover the experience of joy and playfulness you had as a child. Quit trying to punish yourself into weight loss. Don’t like going to the gym? How about bicycling, swimming, roller skating, gardening, taking your kids to the playground or simply taking a walk instead? The key is make it fun!

Listen in as Alex provides another priceless gem to add to your body-care regime. Learn how to discover the joy of cooking fast, nutritious meals at home AND get the whole family involved at the same time.

Feel defeated by cravings? Alex explains the four root causes of those cravings. Once you understand the cause, you piece together what’s actually missing and determine what you need to change. Learn how to defeat the cravings before they have a chance to sabotage your efforts.

Listen in: Learn how to win the battle of the bulge and have fun doing it!
